  Based in south-central Wisconsin, Noah’s Ark has seventy acres of fun, boasting three miles of waterslides (including a looping slide), two wave pools, and, new for 2018, Raja, a racing waterslide.

  But that’s not Wisconsin Dells’s only claim to fame. Another of its properties, Wilderness Resort, features eight water parks in all, with almost a half-million square feet of indoor and outdoor space, making it the largest combined water park resort in the nation.

  At 220,000 square feet, this African-themed water park in the Pocono Mountains has something for everyone. Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, which opened Kalahari in 2015, plans to build a similarly sized water park in Texas by 2020.

  If you like your water park experience to be calm and relaxing, then this is the destination for you. This park’s lazy river, which BSR says is the largest in the world, meanders for almost a mile and takes about an hour to complete.

  The Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, a well-known attraction in Walt Disney World Resort, spans over two-and-a-half acres and uses over three million gallons of water. Hopefully you like crests, since it generates six-foot waves every ninety seconds for ninety consecutive minutes.

  While you’re in town, you can also try this park's twin terrors, the Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides and Ko'okiri Body Plunge. Both measure in at 125 feet tall and drop you at a 70-degree angle, so you’re in for an unforgettable thrill on each, but Kala & Tai Nui also features twists and turns for added drama.
