Simple and Scrumptious Slow-Cooker Meals
Tex-Mex Chili
What’s not to love about chili? It’s the ultimate feel-good food—it’s full of flavor and packed with veggies, and it warms the soul. This recipe is no exception!
Ingredients:
- ¼ c. onions, minced and dried
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can chilies
- 2 tbsp. chili powder
- 1 can black or pinto beans
- 1 can chili beans
- 1 c. water
- 2 lb. lean ground beef or turkey, crumbled
- Sour cream, if desired
- Shredded cheese, if desired

- Place all ingredients besides the meat and toppings into a large sealable freezer bag, and stir to combine.
- Crumble the meat, and add to the bag. Mix to combine the ingredients, and freeze until ready to eat.
- When ready to eat, heat the mixture in a slow cooker on high for 5–6 hours or on low for 7–8 hours. Serve with toppings of your choice (e.g. sour cream, cheese). Serves 2–4
