Winter-Perfect Viewing Party Ideas

An All-Star Party

written by rebecca poole

Sports may be a divisive subject, but everyone loves a good party! Get your friends and family together to watch a game or two with these party suggestions that will have everyone cheering.

  • Game-winning decorations. Decor is the perfect opportunity to pay homage to your favorite team. Hang some streamers around the entryway to your party in your team’s colors, create printouts for people to fill out predictions (brackets can get everyone involved), and add other game-day-appropriate decorations, like balloons and foam fingers, to amp up your living space. Cheer on your favorite team in style!

  • The big game. If your flat-screen isn’t doing it for you, consider bringing in a projector to view the big game. This could really elevate the experience for everyone—especially if there are big sports fans in the room. You could rent one or ask around to see if someone coming has you covered. Seeing the winning plays on the big screen will make guests feel like they're at the game.

  • Set up stations. People don’t want to be missing the action or the game-changing moments. Designate certain viewing-friendly places for drinks, appetizers, and desserts, so people know where to go when they want a quick bite but don’t want to miss one nail-biting minute.

  • A menu worth cheering for. You are sure to have finger foods and batches of drinks on deck, but these recipes will make your menu championship quality!
