What's a movie night without popcorn? Spice up this classic night-in favorite with marshmallow popcorn balls and various seasoning options that will make that movie theater butter seem like a thing of the past.

Marshmallow Popcorn Balls

Ingredients
  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces mini marshmallows
  • ¼ cup pretzel pieces
  • ½ cup peanuts, almonds, or cashews
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips or chocolate-coated candies

  1. Put the popped popcorn in a mixing bowl, then melt butter in a pan on medium heat. Stir in the mini marshmallows until they are just melted—be careful not to let them burn.
  2. Quickly pour the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn, and stir together. Add in the pretzel pieces, nuts, and chocolate pieces. Using greased gloves or your hands, grab a handful of the mix to form a uniform ball. Repeat until 12 popcorn balls are formed. Place on a baking sheet to cool, and store in a parchment-lined container.

Popcorn Flavors to Savor

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons
    olive oil
  • ½ cup corn kernels

  1. Heat the oil in a medium-sized saucepan on medium-high, adding the kernels once oil is heated.
  2. Cover the pan once kernels begin popping.
  3. Add desired flavors, and enjoy!
Flavor Options
  • Old Bay® seasoning: Bring the flavors of Maryland to your movie soiree with an Old Bay®-infused popcorn treat. Just add 1 tablespoon to your cooked popcorn, and mix.
  • Chili-Lime: 2 tablespoons of chili powder and 2 teaspoons of freshly squeezed lime juice are all you need to take your popcorn to the next level.
  • Garlic-Parmesan: Switch it up with 2 teaspoons of garlic and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese for an Italian-inspired snack.
  • Sriracha: If you can't depart from your beloved butter-flavored popcorn, try adding a little spice to the mix with 2 teaspoons of sriracha sauce combined with 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Cinnamon Sugar: For a dessert twist on this savory go-to snack, mix equal parts cinnamon and sugar to top off your popcorn.
