American Thanksgiving Day parades are a longstanding ceremony that helps kick off the holiday season with a bang, with appearances ranging from giant floating characters to Santa Claus. And while most of us probably can’t remember a time before this turkey day tradition, it was many years before the parades amassed to the size and grandeur we see today.
