Your Happiest Home Ever

Isn’t it time your house felt like home? These small improvements can go a long way in helping your space be the best version of itself—helping you be the best version of yourself, too.

  • Add plants or flowers
There’s a reason many of us feel more at ease in nature. Being surrounded by plants and flowers is not only a great way to make your home more aesthetically pleasing but also a means to promote air purification. That’s right—certain plants, such as spider plants, ferns, and palms, can remove toxins from the air, helping you breathe a little easier. Something as minimal as a vase of bright flowers on the kitchen table can make a room feel happy and inviting.

  • Display your favorite art
Fine art, realism, pottery, your child’s crayon drawings—it doesn’t really matter what kind of art you put on display, only how it makes you feel. Art adds personality to your home, and, on top of sparking conversation, it can have a calming effect. Also, don’t feel pressure to hang art that’s trendy or because it was gifted to you. Any piece you add to your home should be representative of your style.

  • Clean and organize
Removing clutter from areas you spend the most time in, like your bedroom and living areas, can bring a feeling of instant calm. If your closets are overflowing, adopt an organizing technique, such as the KonMari Method, to help you eliminate items you no longer need and make room for the ones you do. And removing dust from tabletops and curtains is guaranteed to make your home feel lighter and brighter. Clutter brings feelings of chaos, so less disorder means more mental clarity.

  • Go aromatic
Our sense of smell is highly attached to how we feel, both mentally and physically. Although everyone’s home has its own unique scent, bringing in your favorite smells and calming aromas is a great way to change the mood of a space with minimal effort. Using essential oil diffusers and aromatherapy candles are two ways to do this, and scents like eucalyptus, lavender, and lemon are popular for relaxation and improving one’s mood—just be sure to keep them out of reach of children and pets.
