Winter is a season of extremes. If you live in a part of the US that gets cold, the season can be very harsh on your home; in warmer climates, strong winds can also do major damage this time of year. So it's important to be prepared.
Change the air filter in your HVAC system.
Take the time to organize closets and drawers, and donate any unwanted goods.
Activate your septic pump by dumping water in the basin.
Wipe down windows and windowsills, as well as baseboards and doors.
Touch up peeling paint, where necessary, and recaulk sinks and tubs.
